Caring for gold
Pure gold doesn't tarnish, but it is soft. Most of the damage we repair started as a habit, not an accident.
Wearing it daily
Put jewellery on last — after perfume, hairspray and lotion — and take it off first. Remove rings and bangles for housework, the gym and the sea: knocks against hard surfaces mark 916 and above, and chlorine dulls any finish.
Storing it
Give each piece its own pouch or a lined compartment, because gold scratches gold. Keep bars and cards sealed in their assay packaging — opening it doesn't change the metal, but an intact seal makes buyback and resale simpler.
Cleaning at home
Warm water, one drop of mild dish soap, a soft brush, and patience. Rinse well and pat dry with a lint-free cloth. Nothing abrasive: no toothpaste, no baking soda, and no ultrasonic cleaners on pieces set with stones.
What to avoid
Chlorine and bleach attack the alloy in 916 and 750 gold. Mercury — found in some antiseptics and old thermometers — stains gold permanently. Take gold off before pools, hot springs and hair treatments.
Bring it home once a year
Cleaning and inspection at the counter are free for 金龙珠 pieces. We check clasps and settings while you wait, re-polish where it helps, and re-test anything you're unsure of — that is what the counter is for.
